Thorough Screening
Our expert staffing consultants are skilled interviewers and are trained to
identify qualified prospects. Nonetheless, research shows that even the most
thorough interview is only about 20 percent accurate in ascertaining an
applicant’s true capabilities.
Reference checks are vital in determining an
applicant’s true character and capabilities, so our staff conducts reference
checks on a minimum of two previous employers.
However, this still only adds another 10
percent to the applicant’s reliability factor. Therefore, Carlton Staffing
conducts routine, county and state criminal background checks on each
applicant. These background checks determine if there is anything in an
applicant’s background that would make him or her an unsuitable risk for
employment.
Testing
Even with a thorough screening process there is still a more than 50 percent
chance that a candidate's skills won't be up to expectation. That's why we
test. Every candidate has to take a basic clerical test that includes math,
proofreading, and filing. This establishes that he or she has acceptable
reading and reasoning skills. At this point, depending on the position,
further written and hands-on performance tests are administered. With
thorough testing, we know that each worker we send to you can do the job.

Evaluation and Pairing
